Armed Robbery
Another couple of days go by and I'm to announce today that Armed Robbery (previously known as "Organized Crime" or last round "Bank Robbery") has arrived. It has taken a little bit longer due to unexpected blips but I've worked very hard to make sure that it has come to your screens within the expected time period.
Why the name change?
I know that you all love the name "Organized Crime" and you're all well stuck in your ways as referring to this particular part of the game as an "OC", believe me, even I kind of prefer that name after using it for the majority of the game's life. However, it just doesn't work. Being a game we don't like to take things too seriously here but still like things to make a bit of sense.
In short, Organized Crime is a very broad name. It covers other features too such as our Truck Heist feature and as such it seems silly to use this name for a single feature.
Given the nature of the feature, we decided to call it Armed Robbery. This of course clashes with the single user feature already called Armed Robbery, however this older feature is going to be replaced. Gangster Nation is finally going to see the ladies of the night hit game play (don't worry, we will keep it clean), something which should not be missing from any gangster game. Our feature set currently is all too similar, so it will be nice to remove the old Armed Robbery and have something more interesting in place.
We aren't going to remove the old Armed Robbery until the replacement feature is ready, the replacement feature will still allow you to earn the same level points too. So for the (short) time being, you will have to get used to be confused by two types of Armed Robbery.
What's changed?
Not a whole lot as it stands. As a leader, you finally have the ability to invite and kick members, full control over the robbery. The whole thing is now a bit cleaner too, fitting in with our new layout. We've also added a "Records" tab which will soon show the top Armed Robberies complete.
The process of re developing this feature has made me realise that a lot more can go into it, the feature could become a lot more clever in how the outcome is calculated and so on. Over time, over the course of the round, these improvements will be made. For now we're happy with the feature being back and will shift our efforts onto other features which are yet to arrive (Family Businesses coming up next!).
Tweaking and monitoring
This has been completely re developed so the outcomes may seem a bit off, we will be tweaking the outcome from Armed Robbery in the coming weeks and months so please be patient. We welcome all feedback but if you're just going to complain that you want to pass every single time and make $100,000,000 per go, then your feedback may get pushed to one side!
If you find any bugs or have any viable suggestions, please open a help request :) We'd love to hear from you. I hope you enjoy taking part in these robberies, you can expect the single user Armed Robber to be replaced within a few weeks.
